UN Global Compact
Since 2011 Kyocera Group has been committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
The Kyocera Group officially endorsed the TCFD's recommendations in March 2020.
Japan Climate Initiative
The Kyocera Group has participated in the Japan Climate Initiative since February 2019 to address climate change measures proactively.
SBTi(Science Based Targets initiative)
The Kyocera Group has obtained SBT (Science Based Targets) certification from the SBT Initiative, an international environmental organization. We received SBT certification for Scope 1,2 and Scope 1,2,3 targets of 2°C level in March 2019 and 1.5°C level target in April 2022.
FTSE 4Good Index Series
The FTSE4Good Index Series, developed by FTSE Russell, a global index provider, recognizes and selects companies for their outstanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
The Kyocera Group was selected for the FTSE4Good Index in 2021.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index
The FTSE Blossom Japan Index evaluates and selects Japanese companies based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
The Kyocera Group was selected for the FTSE Blossom Japan Index in 2021.
S&P Carbon Efficient Index
The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index was adopted as an environmental stock index by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) in 2018.
Constituent stocks are selected based on information about environmental disclosure and the reduction of carbon emissions. The Kyocera Group has been selected for three consecutive years, beginning in 2018.
CDP
CDP is an international non-profit organization with global authority in the environmental field. They select companies that excel in their efforts and disclosure of information on climate change.
The Kyocera Group's activities related to climate change were comprehensively evaluated, and the Kyocera Group was selected for the "Climate Change A-List," the highest evaluation level, in 2020, 2021, and 2023.
In addition, for the third year in a row, the Kyocera Group was selected for the "Supplier Engagement Leader" based on a comprehensive evaluation of greenhouse gas reduction activities throughout the supply chain since 2019. The Supplier Engagement Leader evaluates companies' climate change performance across their value chain and selects the best companies to participate. The Kyocera Group has set medium- to long-term emissions reduction targets (SBT certification) and is working to reduce environmental impact.
Ecovadis
EcoVadis is a third-party organization that evaluates suppliers from over 200 industries in more than 160 countries based on four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
In 2023, the Kyocera Group was given a "Gold" rating, a level only achieved by the top 5% of all companies covered, for the second consecutive year.
Platinum Kurumin Certification
The Platinum Kurumin Certification is given by Japan's Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare to companies with exceptional support for parents with young children. It certifies companies that have formulated a general business owner action plan and are implementing high-level initiatives for working parents. Kyocera was certified in 2021.
Digital Transformation Certification
Digital Transformation Certification System is a national certification system for companies that meet the basic requirements of the Digital Governance Code, based on the Law Concerning the Promotion of Information Processing.Kyocera has been certified since October 2022.
