Silicon nitride is an outstanding engineered ceramic that possesses superior heat shock resistance and corrosion resistance, as well as high strength and fracture toughness even at high temperatures. Kyocera's silicon nitride achieves high strength and thermal conductivity due to our unique processing technology* and is widely used as a highly reliable structure. In particular, SN282A, our high-temperature, high-strength silicon nitride, maintains approximately 2.8 times the strength of our conventional material (SN240O) at 1400℃ and possesses superior heat resistance. For this reason, SN282A has a proven track record of use as a high-temperature heat-resistant component in environments where thermal distribution occurs at high temperatures or where long-term load is applied.

Features
- High-Temperature Strength
At 1200℃, the strength of SN282A silicon nitride is 594 [MPa], which is nearly the same as our conventional material (SN240O), but at 1400℃, the strength is 499 [MPa], maintaining approximately 2.8 times the strength of our conventional material (SN240O). - High Thermal Conductivity
64 [W/(m·K)]. Approximately 2.4 times the thermal conductivity compared to our conventional material (SN240O). - Low Thermal Expansion
Among ceramics, silicon nitride has low thermal expansion, and Kyocera's SN282A exhibits an even smaller value.
