Kyocera's Shiga Gamo Plant Receives Platinum Status in RBA VAP Audit

Kyocera Corporation (President: Hideo Tanimoto, hereinafter: Kyocera) today announced that its Shiga Gamo Plant has received Platinum status, the highest rating, in the Validated Assessment Program (VAP) audit, which evaluates compliance with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct.

RBA is the world's largest industry coalition that promotes sustainable values for workers, the environment, and businesses throughout the global supply chain. The RBA Code of Conduct sets standards to ensure a safe working environment, in which workers are treated with respect and dignity, and business activities are conducted ethically and responsibly regarding environmental impact.

In a recent third-party VAP audit of the Shiga Gamo Plant, Kyocera was recognized for its management systems as well as its operational processes in labor, health and safety, the environment, and ethics. Kyocera's Shiga Gamo Plant received a perfect audit score (200 points), meeting platinum status criteria.

The Kyocera Group views full compliance with laws and regulations as a minimum standard in all business activities, and promotes fair, honest, and sustainable management to achieve a sustainable society. To meet the expectations of stakeholders, Kyocera will continue to strengthen its approach to sustainability by expanding the scope of VAP audits at its production sites not only in Japan but globally.
