EEVBlog has been a great resource as someone who is responsible for setting of test systems that involve electrical test equipment. His tear-downs of this equipment and other devices have helped me understand how this equipment works which transfers to a better understanding of what I'm measuring and how it is accomplished. This fundamental understanding of how the test equipment works helps me understand flaws and limitations of equipment and possible test setups while using these tools.

"An hour spent in the library is said to be worth a month spent in the lab" is a popular adage amongst engineers, but I believe that both approaches are important. First, you should try to solve the problem or conduct research on your own, then use available resources such as websites to obtain answers, and finally, revisit the issue and delve deeper to refine your understanding. I am always mindful of using a hybrid approach by repeating this process.

Patent-related Platforms

I recommend using technical patent information as part of your study materials. In addition to understanding the approaches taken for a particular theme and who is showing interest in that technology, you can also learn company strategies and industry trends.
While reading hundreds or even decades’ worth of patent-related information can be challenging, it is fascinating due to the myriad of discoveries available within this domain.
I often use sites like Google Patent or Espacenet.
These are just simple tools available to anyone, but not everyone can push themselves to dive into this research, which is difficult but ultimately very rewarding.
