We at Rigid Industries are a manufacturer of a variety of automotive lighting solutions. We provide a variety of lighting products for both on-road and off-road applications in a wide variety of markets, including powersports, construction, military, and emergency response. As a project engineer, I am involved in the entire process from conceptualizing new product ideas and technical design to introduction and production. In addition to my duties as an engineer, which include mechanical, optical, and electrical design, as well as product testing and verification, I am also responsible for a wide variety of management tasks. Part of that responsibility is choosing contractors and participating in sales and marketing activities. Although there are many challenges, I find it rewarding to be involved in all processes, from the idea of a product to when it arrives in our customers' hands.

Listening to people's concerns and needs and applying them to product development.

In my work, it is very important to have direct dialogue with customers in various markets to understand their concerns and needs. By understanding these needs, we can develop a plan to address the issue, whether that results in an improvement to an existing product or a new product entirely. Safety and durability are always major concerns for us, not only because our products are often used in harsh environments, but also because we pride ourselves in our commitment to providing high-quality products. The Limited Lifetime Warranty we offer on our products stands as a testament to our commitment to providing our customers with the best possible products. Back in 2006, Rigid Industries created the industry’s first LED light bar, and since then has continued to push the boundaries of the automotive lighting market. My interest in technology started at a young age with multiple family members involved in various engineering disciplines. Mostly influenced by my father, who worked for a major airline, I learned early on how to take apart and rebuild complex assemblies. I take great pride in working within the automotive industry while developing products that are not only advanced, but vastly increase the ability of our consumers to operate their vehicles safely.

Aiming to enrich people's lives through technology.

As an expansion of our 360-Series product family, we have developed a new design that incorporates Kyocera's (*1) laser technology (LaserLight). Developing a product using a laser was a new experience for us, but thanks to Kyocera's technical capabilities and dedicated support, this product’s performance is, as far as I know, one of the best in the industry (*2). This product has much better irradiation distance and luminous intensity compared to LEDs, leading to safety and peace of mind, especially for those driving at high speed at night. While this may not be a product that is widely sought after by the general public, we believe that it has solid value, in part because it enhances driver safety, which in turn makes racing more enjoyable. As such, our mission is to expand the possibilities of lighting through technology and provide a better experience for users. We believe that compact, durable, high-performance lighting fixtures are in demand, not only in the automotive industry but also in numerous other areas. We will continue to provide cutting-edge lighting solutions through product development and technological innovation, and we will continue to take on the challenge of enriching people's lives with safety, comfort, and enjoyment.

(24M) is working with Kyocera to develop the technology and mass-produce battery storage products using 24M’s SemiSolid™ manufacturing platform. 24M’s SemiSolid™ has a simpler manufacturing process than conventional batteries, meaning it is less expensive. But, that's not all. It has higher energy density, improved safety, and a longer service life. It is the first of its kind,* and its potential applications for storing electricity are drawing a lot of attention. We have been developing products together with manufacturers of hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as with partners who provide wind- and solar-powered energy management systems. As manager of the advanced process development team, I am responsible for improving existing technologies and production lines as well as spearheading new innovations. I am constantly trying to see what we can do to improve quality, not only for the issues at hand, but also for the environment in which the next generation of products will be developed.
