Kyocera has obtained Japanese patents for a glass crack preventive structure for smartphones unique to Kyocera and used in Kyocera's "TORQUE ® G03".

Kyocera has obtained multiple patents for "HYBRID SHIELD" which is a glass crack preventive structure, where tempered glass and an acrylic screen are superimposed.

Points of the representative patent (Japanese Patent No. 6162915) are introduced below.

Points of Patent

  • A glass panel is protected by a scratch preventive resin panel superimposed on it.

  • Impact is further lessened because there is also a case which surrounds the glass panel while protruding over the scratch preventive resin panel as shown in the above image.

This double structure more thoroughly prevents glass cracks.

This patent is used in "TORQUE ® G03" a high durability smartphone by Kyocera.

In addition to this patent, Kyocera has multiple patents that cover composite panels, which use both glass panels and scratch preventive resin panels.
