Working in global sales comes with challenges beyond what you might expect--differences in culture and values, language barriers, and more. But no matter the situation, having an "unyielding spirit" and the ability to build trust are always key.

This time, we'd like to share the story of Shohei, a Kyocera employee currently on assignment in Thailand.

"I'm taking on new challenges in Thailand, working alongside team members from various nationalities and backgrounds. Despite hurdles like occasional differences of opinion with local staff and the restrictions on going to the office during the pandemic, I've focused on face-to-face meetings and having repeated discussions. Sometimes we even shared a beer, building trust little by little.

'Hold on to big dreams and never give up until you succeed.' This belief has been driving force for me to keep pushing through difficulties. And having friends and colleagues around me has given me encouragement time and again.

My supervisor, Somphob, praised my efforts, saying I demonstrated persistence, teamwork, and a strong understanding of customer needs, which led to to great results.

Every day, engineers continue to take on new challenges to make our world a better place. At the Kyocera Group, we will keep valuing a "challenging spirit" and "gratitude," growing together with our colleagues worldwide."
