Currently, it is extremely difficult to send wireless communications underwater. The conventional methods rely on outdated radio-wave technologies that are both slow and not secure for confidential communications.
Kyocera's alternative is an underwater wireless solution that uses optical technology to send data underwater at further distances, faster, and more securely than any other technology. Adding to the solution is Kyocera's unique semi-polar Gallium Nitride (GaN) blue laser technology that can send communications up to 3x faster than conventional lasers. This means that 4K realtime transmission is possible with our technology.
