Japan's relationship with ceramics is one ingrained deeply within the nation's art and culture scenes. Still, perhaps you didn't know that porcelains are used in electronics and other high-tech industries too; we call that 'Fine Ceramics (Advanced Ceramics).'

Kyocera Founder Dr. Kazuo Inamori coined the term 'Fine Ceramics' to denote materials that are both 'materially and structurally fine' and custom designed for use in electronics and other high-tech industries. Fine Ceramics are carefully engineered materials in which the chemical composition has been precisely adjusted using refined or synthesized raw powder, with a well-controlled method of forming and sintering.
