For years, Kyocera has applied its fine ceramic technology to design high-quality hip joints.
Our new biomimetic polymer technology, Aquala, was developed to extend the life expectancy of hip joints and help alleviate the need for revision surgery. This is a particularly important development because the older a patient becomes, the more difficult revision surgery becomes.
We spoke to engineers from Kyocera's Medical R&D Center about their goals and vision for Aquala.
