Meet Iris Cordova, an Engineering Manager at AVX Corporation, a Kyocera Group company which is a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced electronic components.
Iris is currently leading a project seeking to improve their existing ceramic capacitors for advanced applications in the automotive industry.
Some of her key areas of focus include wireless charging, and hybrid and electric vehicles.
She is also involved in global R&D efforts to extend the lifespan of current products and coordinates projects in El Salvador, Northern Ireland, and Malaysia.
Iris draws inspiration from Kyocera's founder Kazuo Inamori who believes that developing new technologies is like "navigating uncharted waters" and enjoys finding new and creative ways to overcome research obstacles with her team.
