Kyocera along with three other companies - GF, Kyudenko, and Tokyo Century - announced that Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills LLC, a solar power jointventure established by the four companies, has started operating its "Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills Solar Power Plant" -- the largest renewable power plant in the Kyushu region of Japan.

Construction of the site was completed in cooperation with Kagoshima Prefecture, Kanoya City, the Town of Osaki, and other members of the community.

It is expected that this installation will contribute greatly to the local community through the creation of jobs and increased tax revenues in both Kanoya and Osaki. In addition, the power plant was built with an environmentallyfriendly design to minimize land development impact.

The solar plant will generate enough annual energy to power approximately 39,300 typical households. Through this project, Kyocera hopes to promote renewable energy, environmental protection, and a more sustainable society.
