Kyocera's Operational Status after the Earthquake in Hyuga-nada, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan

We would like to send our deepest sympathy to those affected by the earthquake that occurred in Hyuga-nada, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, on August 8, 2024. We pray for the soonest possible recovery for the region.

Following the special bulletin announcement regarding a possible Nankai Trough Earthquake (Major Earthquake Warning), Kyocera has established a Disaster Response Headquarters today to take appropriate measures in the case an additional disaster occurs.

The current status of Kyocera offices and plants around the region are as follows (as of 11:00 am on August 9);

  1. Injuries to staff
    Three employees were reported to have been injured at the Kagoshima Kokubu Plant. No life-threatening injuries have been confirmed.
  2. Status of production
    Some production equipment at the Kagoshima Kokubu Plant and Kagoshima Hayato Plant has been damaged, and production of certain products has been halted. We are currently working towards the prompt restoration of the damaged equipment.

    Due to partial damage, we are suspending some production to check equipment.

    Production has restarted and will continue sequentially toward full capacity.

    Kagoshima Hayato Plant

    999-3 Uchi, Hayato-cho, Kirishima, Kagoshima Prefecture

    Due to partial damage, we are suspending production to check equipment.

    Production has restarted and will continue sequentially toward full capacity.

    If any issues remain regarding the manufacturing or shipment of products, customers will be contacted as necessary.
