KYOCERA AVX Achieves 47μF in 0402-inch MLCC - An Industry First That Will Accelerate Technology Advancement in the Gen-AI Era!

KYOCERA AVX, has announced the development of the world's first*1 compact, high-capacity multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) boasting an industry-leading capacitance value of 47μF in the 0402-inch size*2 (1.0mm x 0.5mm). Mass production is set to begin in December 2025.

Key Highlights:
- The 0402-inch size is the most commonly used in smartphones and wearable devices.
- Thanks to KYOCERA AVX's advanced material and process technologies, we've managed to further reduce the thickness of the dielectric and internal electrodes, achieving approximately 2.1 times the capacitance of our previous 22μF product in the same size.
- This breakthrough secures the necessary capacitance, reduces the component count, and supports high-density designs.
- With heat resistance up to +105°C, KYOCERA AVX's MLCCs ensure high reliability even in demanding environments, like AI servers.
