"I am especially proud of the way all my fellow Kyocera colleagues pulled together."
- Jennilee Wu, Internal Reporting Manager at Kyocera International, Inc. (KII)

Jennilee spearheaded an effort in April to raise $2,000 for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank (SDFB). The SDFB serves, on average, 350,000 people per month in San Diego County. She asked KII employees to donate via Kyocera's Virtual Food Drive website to help hungry families in need. For every $1 donated, the FoodBank could provide 5 meals for San Diego residents. The drive ended on May 31st and employees raised $4,544. This money will provide 22,720 meals to much needed families.

"This display of compassion and people working together is a real testament to the kindness of the human heart. This is humanity at its best," explained Jennilee.

Through this donation, Diego Lugo, Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving in San Diego Plant, took advantage of the benefit that was offered by Kyocera for a paid day off to volunteer to help pass out food to people in need. Even though it was a rainy day, it did not stop him because he had the spirit of supporting the people in need.
