May 17 is World Telecommunication & Information Society Day, so today we are looking back at the history of Kyocera's mobile phone innovations.
1999: Kyocera launches the world's first mobile color video phone featuring single front-facing camera able to send two images per second using a PHS communication system. This innovation helped make mobile phone communications fun and set the stage for modern smartphone video communication.
2015: Kyocera introduces two new innovative smartphones to the Japanese market: TORQUE G02, the world's first smartphone featuring seawater resistance, and DIGNO rafre, the world's first hand-soap washable smartphone enabling users to keep their smartphone clean without risk of water damage.
