Technologies contributing to space observation and exploration, in our own solar system and beyond!
Kyocera's cordierite material was on display last week at the Japan International Aerospace Exhibition in Tokyo! By achieving high rigidity and slim, light-weight designs, Kyocera's cordierite can be used in space exploration and astronomy, including mirrors and structural parts for telescopes. This cordierite technology was even chosen as a camera lens spacer for the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, a flagship telescope of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ).
