KYOCERA to Display at ‘PV Japan 2013’ Solar Power Industry Event in Tokyo, July 24-26

Kyocera Corporation (President: Goro Yamaguchi) will be exhibiting at PV Japan 2013 ― a comprehensive event for the global solar-photovoltaic industry ― being held from July 24 to 26 at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center.

Since the start of a new Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program in July 2012, the domestic market in Japan for solar energy has been expanding rapidly. As solar power generating systems are being constructed all around the country, interest is also growing for Energy Management Systems (EMS) which efficiently control energy supply and consumption in buildings by linking solar power, storage batteries, and fuel cells with the commercial power grid.

At PV Japan 2013, Kyocera will be exhibiting its original EMS in addition to the company’s high-quality solar modules and lithium-ion batteries. These systems not only provide visual information on the state of power use, but also realize energy conservation through optimal control of system elements. The company's booth will showcase the Kyocera Group’s comprehensive strength which includes everything from equipment supply to system solutions.

Kyocera Booth Highlights
1. Residential Applications
Kyocera will be introducing its high-durability, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries to be used in tandem with solar power generating systems, as well as the company’s Home Energy Management System (HEMS) which allows real-time visual monitoring of power use in the home through one’s computer or smartphone.

2. Commercial Applications
Kyocera will also introduce its Energy Management System (EMS) for commercial facilities, with real-time information from a demonstration experience at an actual store. Visitors will be able see the state of power use at the demonstration site.

3. Mega-Solar Power Plant Projects
Introduction of Kyocera's utility-scale projects, including the 70MW Kagoshima Nanatsujima Mega-Solar Power Plant which is planned to start operation this fall, and will become one of the largest utility-scale solar plants in the country.

4. Kyocera’s Proven Quality
Showcase of solar modules for public and industrial use, introducing certifications from third-party organizations such as TUV Rheinland Japan Ltd. and Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP, which prove Kyocera’s high reliability and high quality.
