Willcom WX340K Compact Mobile Phone Launch
First Willcom PHS equipped with electronic payment system “Osaifu Keitai®”

Kyocera Corporation (President: Makoto Kawamura) today announced the launch of the WX340K, the first Willcom PHS mobile phone equipped with the electronic payment system, “Osaifu Keitai®.”
The WX340K (W48.5mm×H99mm×D15.9mm), is a compact model and the first Willcom handset to utilize Osaifu Keitai®. The new model is also equipped with enhanced features such as a 2.7 inch QVGA display, 2 megapixel auto-focus camera with built-in lighting, and Flash® Lite™ 3.1 software. Furthermore, the user interface can be customized with the Willcom Gadget and Favorites Menu applications. The handset is available in three color variations; Brilliant White, Campari Red and Midnight Black. The new Willcom Fixed-Rate Plan is available, and along with voice call and e-mail capabilities, users who want to actively access the internet on their mobile phone will also be satisfied.
The WX340K will go on sale in late February through Willcom sales channels.

The WX340K, with its smooth outer features, is not only designed for practicality, but also with a refined sense of style.
Viewing mail and using the internet is made easy by the vividly illuminated 2.7 inch wide QVGA large main display screen. The toughness and highly transparent characteristics of the strengthened glass employed in the display screen is resistant to scratching, allowing the user worry-free use of the handset. The highly visible OLED sub-display on the outer surface of the phone shows the time, the send-and-receive status of messages, and caller identification.

1) The first Willcom handset with Osaifu Keitai®
The electronic payment system allows for quick and easy payment when shopping simply by holding the handset up to a special terminal at the register. Also, as the handset is equipped with an IC chip, it is easy to exchange photos and contact information wirelessly between mobile phones.
*Data exchange is available with phones equipped with the same IC chip.
2) Newly equipped 2 megapixel auto-focus camera with built-in lighting
With a resolution of approximately 197 million pixels, the auto-focus camera with built-in lighting makes it possible to take photographs indoors and in low-light situations. The camera light can also be used as a flashlight for utility purposes.
3) Newly equipped with personal customization features

Set the main menu and standby display screen with animated images.
• Willcom Gadget application
Widgets in the standby screen allow the user to display news, weather or other updates from the internet, making it simple to keep tabs on one’s favorite news and information, with accessibility to bookmarked Web sites directly from the standby screen.
• Favorites Menu application
Create and design a personalized main menu with the most frequently used content by selecting and registering photos and downloads.
4) Easy-to-use, highly visible mail features
Mail features have become even more straightforward with the character input engine application iWinn.* Also, the Auto-line Font feature makes typing or reading mails comfortable by adjusting the letters to display clearly whether the font size is set to large or small.

5) NetFront Browser
Enjoy full use of the internet on the handset with the NetFront browser, which can display Web sites that were intended for PC viewing.
