KYOCERA Announces Publication of CSR Report 2008
November 26, 2008Kyocera Corporation (President: Makoto Kawamura) announced the publication of the Kyocera Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report 2008, which allows Kyocera stakeholders to gain a broader understanding of the details of economic, social and environmental activities undertaken by the Kyocera Group during FY 2008.
To facilitate understanding of the attitudes and activities of the Kyocera Group with respect to CSR, the current report leads off with three feature articles which address the themes most important to the Kyocera Group: the Kyocera Philosophy, environmental management, and contributing to society through business.

The Concept of CSR According to the Kyocera Group
Since the company was established in 1959, Kyocera has followed its Management Rationale, "To provide opportunities for the material and intellectual growth of all our employees, and through our joint efforts, contribute to the advancement of society and humankind." Corporate management has been founded on the Kyocera Philosophy, which bases its decision-making criterion on the idea, "To do what is right as a human being."
For the Kyocera Group, CSR is neither a new concept nor a new set of values. It is none other than the application of the Kyocera Philosophy as the basis of management, through which Kyocera strives to build trust with stakeholders and to contribute to the healthy development of society.
Structure and Content of the Report
|1.||Three new feature articles|
|The report leads off with three feature articles: Practice of the Kyocera Philosophy; Aiming to Become a Corporation Advanced in Environmental Management; and Contributing to Society Through Our Main Line of Business. The content is designed to provide a condensed and easy-to-understand summary of the attitudes and activities of the Kyocera Group.
The first article focuses on the application of the Kyocera Philosophy by explaining initiatives that are linked to understanding and spreading the corporate philosophy - which forms the basis of Kyocera's management style.
The second article on striving to be a corporation that is advanced in terms of environmental management introduces the Kyocera Group Environmental Safety Vision as well as specific activities that have been established with a long-term view of regulations and social trends based on the core concepts of environmental management.
The third article outlines contributions to society through Kyocera's core business by describing the ideas behind the solar energy business that Kyocera launched 33 years ago, the results of energy creation benefits up until now, as well as the advancement of technologies born from Kyocera's integrated production process that begins from procuring and casting raw silicon to producing solar cells and assembling ready-to-install solar modules.

|Japanese and Chinese language editions of the CSR Report 2008 have also been published in order to make the report available as an information tool for international stakeholders.|

|3.||CSR briefing sessions, and CSR Report reading sessions|
|To encourage better understanding of the Kyocera initiatives among a greater number of stakeholders, Kyocera organizes CSR briefing sessions for local citizens, public administrators and transaction partners, as well as CSR Report reading sessions for Kyocera Group employees in Japan.
