Evolution of the “Simple Mobile Phone”
In 2005, the W32K model was the first in the Simple Mobile Phone series to launch in Japan. Designed around the concept of a simple phone with ease-of-use, the W32K targeted senior citizens who would be using a mobile phone for the first time by offering features such as large font type and simple calling operation.
Following, the series further evolved around its original concept to provide enhanced usability and even richer features, reflecting the needs of customers — allowing them to use the phones on a daily basis with enjoyment and comfort. The latest model (K010), with ease-of-use and a simple design, also provides the rich features demanded by a wide range of users.
In Japan, 77.8% of people between the age of 60-64 currently use mobile phones*3. Kyocera will continue to further develop and market signature handsets such as the easy-to-use, convenient Simple Mobile Phone series.
