KYOCERA Announces the Total Amount of Financial Aid

Support for Victims and Disaster-Stricken Regions of the Szechuan Earthquake

As already reported, the Kyocera Group gave 3 million yuan (approximately 45 million yen) in financial aid from Kyocera Group companies to the victims and disaster-stricken regions of the recent Szechuan Earthquake in China. Part of the aid has been presented to the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka.

At the same time, Group companies have been collecting donations from employees, in the hope that people affected by this tragedy will be able to resume their normal lives as soon as possible. Local subsidiaries overseas also increased financial aid, and the Kyocera Group pooled this together with donations collected from employees. The total amount donated by the Kyocera Group is approximately 84.6 million yen.

We will send the aid and donations through the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka and organizations such as the Japanese Red Cross Society to provide relief for earthquake victims in those regions affected by the disaster.

Around one month has passed since this major earthquake. We sincerely hope that the disaster-stricken region recovers speedily, and that the lives of the people affected who are still being forced to endure discomfort return to normal as soon as possible.
