[Facebook Archive] “The Day Seiwajyuku Was Born”
July 18, 2019
Yesterday was the first day of The 27th Annual Seiwajyuku World Convention, which is being held in Yokohama over the course of two days. Coincidentally, July 18, 1983, 36 years ago, was also the day when a study session was held for the first time at the predecessor of Seiwajyuku, Seiyujyuku (which had 25 members at the time). Inamori, who has served as the president of the school from its inception to this day, expressed his feelings about Seiwajyuku as follows:
"In essence, Seiwajyuku is a place to learn the principles that guide successful business management and sustain it over the long term. However, these principles differ from the common business sense that most people know and are about the mindset of a person.
We ask ourselves questions like, 'What is life?' and 'How should one live?' and strive to elevate our minds. Through this, we expand our business. We strive to contribute to employees, their families, society, the world, and even the earth through our efforts to live and manage our businesses in a wonderful way in our one and only life. ... Today, small and medium-sized business owners continue to work hard every day to enrich their businesses and lives, aiming for their employees to be happy by having such aspirations, engaging in constant study, and elevating their minds. ... The revitalization of small and medium-sized businesses, which account for more than 99% of Japanese companies, is linked to the development of the Japanese economy. For that reason, I hope they achieve healthy growth and development by all means, and even now, after the age of 80, I take time out of my schedule to go to Seiwajyuku management schools around the world to teach young students how to manage their businesses."
