1951(age19) Inamori enrolls in Kagoshima University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Applied Chemistry.
1954(age22) At a time of high unemployment in Japan, Inamori receives a prospective job offer from Shofu Industrial Company, an insulator manufacturer in Kyoto.
1955(age23) Inamori graduates from Kagoshima University and officially joins Shofu Industrial Company
1956(age24) Technology Inamori becomes the first in Japan to successfully synthesize forsterite ceramics.
1958(age26) Inamori resigns from Shofu Industrial Company after a disagreement about the company’s technology development policy.
1958(age26) Management Inamori decides to create a new company with support from former supervisor Masaji Aoyama, and Aoyama's friends, Ichie Nishieda and Tamotsu Majikawa.
1959(age27) Management Inamori founds Kyoto Ceramic Co., Ltd. and takes on the role of Director of Technology.
