The iBurst, the wireless broadband system, was approved as the new standard for the WWINA (Wireless Wideband Internet Access) at the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) on September 14, 2005.
The iBurst was defined as “HC-SDMA” (High Capacity Spatial Division Multiple Access) at the ANSI. The iBurst was adopted as a standard technology in the U.S., a country of leading communication technologies. We hope this will drive further global adoption of the iBurst at the ISO/TC204/WG16, standardization for ITS wide area communication technology, currently being in discussion, and some international standardizations, such as ITU and IEEE802.20 where high level of performances, e.g., high mobility and high spectrum reuse, will be required.
