Link Adaptation technology allows
the ideal digital modulation to be selected depending up on
signal quality at the base station or user terminal. The variable
range is eight increments for uplink and nine for downlink.
This technology allows high-speed modulation to be applied to
strong signals. However, when signals get weaker, low-speed
modulation is chosen to prevent dropped connections. This function
enhances mobility as well.
