Liquid
toner development |

As its name implies, the liquid toner printer uses liquid toner in place of
the powder toner that is normally used by copiers and page printers. Since the
diameter of liquid toner particles is smaller than 2 m
as opposed to the 8 to 15 m
diameter of powder toner particles, which provides offset printing level fine
detail and high resolution. Also, the layer of toner on the paper is extremely
thin, which does not detract from the quality or texture of the printed paper.
Though the use of liquid toner greatly reduces the service life of an organic
drum (OPC), the a-Si drum boasts outstanding solvent resistance, for superior
performance with liquid toner. |
