| Amorphous silicon (a-Si) photoreceptor drums have changed the industry’s basic assumption regarding the photoreceptor. Instead of serving as a consumable component, like other photoreceptors, the a-Si drum can last as long as the machine in which it is used. This allows for a non-cartridge design that provides toner replenishment without replacing the entire imaging engine. In this way, Kyocera’s a-Si drums enhance office efficiency, reducing the user’s total cost of ownership, while making a meaningful contribution to environmental preservation. |
