Light Intensity Compensation Technology |
 |
| |
| Kyocera’s LED printheads can print uniform gray tones because they use Light-Intensity Compensation technology. For each pixel, the LED element’s on-time is determined by several bits of gray-scale data from the document plus several bits of compensation data, unique to that LED element. The LED printhead combines them on-the-fly. The value of the compensation bits is determined by testing at the Kyocera factory and is shipped with each printhead on a media agreeable to the customer. This technology is necessary because there are small differences in light intensity among the LED elements on an LED array chip. |
