While an increasing number of mobile phones are multifunctional in the today's mobile phone market, there is growing demand amongst users for a thinner model. Against this background, Kyocera is to commercialize a friendly design mobile phone with substantial functions packed into its 18mm thick body, the thinnest of all au models. The A5521K is to be launched in series from early June as a mobile phone that meets the demands of a wide range of users.
The A5521K's compact 18mm thick body is fitted with a 2.4-inch ASV liquid crystal display, which provides a large display of photos taken as well as the characters. The handset is also equipped with a camera with approximately 1.31 mega pixels. The unit supports EZ-FM, enabling the user to write email or set functions while listening to the radio. The unit's friendly design facilitates functions that allow the user to use the phone in a carefree manner. For instance, phone features large character display, Tsukaikata-Navi® (Using Navi) and the save mode. The unit packs both functionality and user-friendliness into its compact body.

Slim and flat profile
Its 18mm thick body makes the A5521K au's thinnest model. The mobile phone is flat and small enough to fit comfortably in the user's pocket or a bag without taking up much space, so it is ideal for the fashion-conscious users. The metal panel surrounding the camera and the clear panel around the sub-LCD are bonded together to create an expensive and high-quality appearance. A linear lamp that notifies the user of an incoming call is fitted between the camera and the sub-LCD.
Clear-view 2.4-inch ASV liquid crystal display
The unit features a mobile ASV liquid crystal display capable of displaying 260,000 colors that measures fully 2.4 inches. The display is high-contrast with a wide angle of view, and is capable of displaying the photos taken as well as characters clearly and vividly, even in bright sunlight.
