Glossary for better understanding
* Patent License Agreement:
An agreement to give a license to a third party to use a patent owned by a company which receives royalties in consideration of the license. "To use a patent" means to use a method or to make or sell a product disclosed in the patent. To authorize each other to use patents owned by both parties is "cross-license."
* Cutting Insert:
Cutting and grinding are methods for processing metals with means to remove a part of the metals. Cutting is a method to scrape a surface off with a tool pressed on the surface, and grinding is a method to grind a surface by using a grindstone. A tool used for the cutting process is called "cutting tool," and a detachable edge portion is called "insert."
