KYOCERA Concludes Advertising Agreements for
Osaka Dome and ORIX Buffaloes

(This document was translated from the Japanese press release.)
March 02, 2006

Kyocera Corporation (Head Office: Kyoto, President and COO: Makoto Kawamura) today announced the conclusion of an agreement for a naming rights (facility naming rights) partnership with Osaka City Dome Co., Ltd. Osaka City Dome is the owner of the Osaka Dome, which is a multipurpose enclosed stadium located in the Nishi Ward of Osaka City. By this agreement the Osaka Dome will be renamed the "KYOCERA DOME in Osaka" as its common name from April this year.

Kyocera also announced an agreement that will see the Kyocera logo appear on the helmets and player uniforms of professional baseball team ORIX Buffaloes, which uses the Osaka Dome as its home ground*.

Kyocera already has advertising boards at the Osaka Dome under the leadership of Kyocera Mita Corp. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Tetsuo Okada), one of the core companies of the Group. The naming rights partnership for the Osaka Dome will help increase awareness of the Kyocera Group on a global scale as part of a number of sports related branding initiatives. The Osaka Dome is an international center of sport and culture, which hosts professional baseball and a variety of musical events. The advertising on the helmets and team uniforms will compliment the renaming of the stadium, especially as ORIX Buffaloes is one of the most popular baseball teams in Japan.

*Orix Buffaloes has two home grounds; Osaka Dome and Skymark Stadium in Kobe.

[Kyocera naming rights partnerships]
This is the second example of a stadium naming rights agreement within the Kyocera Group. In March 2005, as part of a sponsorship agreement between a top soccer club in Curitiba, Brazil and Kyocera Mita, the club's new stadium was renamed the KYOCERA ARENA.

[Kyocera Group's major initiatives in sport-related sponsorship and advertising]
The entire Kyocera Group supports Kyoto Purple Sanga, a Japanese professional football club, as the main sponsor. The Group is also involved in sports sponsorship activities for other teams: Borussia Mönchengladbach in Bundesliga (German Football League) from January 2005 and from March of the same year Clube Atletico Paranaense, a Brazilian football club in the Serie A.

[About naming rights]
"Naming rights" refers to the rights to use a corporate or brand name as the common or informal name for stadiums and arenas or cultural facilities. Naming rights are very common, for example, in North America, where such rights are used for professional sport teams' home facilities, such as basketball and baseball.

The use of these rights has been established mainly as a critical methodology for contributing to the stable operation of highly public facilities (for facilities), and as an advertising/PR methodology that may contribute to upgrading the awareness of corporate names and the value of brands (for users of the rights).
