Kyocera Corporation (Chairman and CEO: Yasuo Nishiguchi) is pleased to announce the development of two PHS handsets, WX310K and WX300K, for WILLCOM Inc. ("WILLCOM"). The WX310K is a high-grade model that provides high-speed data communications in the 4x packet system. The WX300K is a standard model that is small and light, making it highly portable. The WX310K is scheduled to be released through WILLCOM shops in Japan in late November, with the WX300K due out in mid November.

The WX310K offers WILLCOM's flat rate service for data communications, Data Flat Rate, and is equipped with the Opera browser. The unit thereby enables users to view websites in HTML and search for information via the Internet at the high speeds offered by the 4x packet system and for a flat rate. This is a high-grade model with greater usability for users who primarily need mobile data communications. The unit is also compatible with Bluetooth for wireless data communications. Moreover, users can tailor it to their needs simply by downloading a license key for application software, including a Flash Player for animations, Picsel Viewer, which allows users to view Word and Excel files, and Music Player* for playing music data.
The WX300K features a compact and lightweight body with enhanced portability, as well as the clear sound quality that is one of the advantages of the PHS handset. It is a standard model designed for couples, families and groups who mainly use the WILLCOM Flat Rate Plan for calling WILLCOME phones free of charge.

Background
Last Year, Kyocera released the AH-K3001V, a PHS handset enabling users to view websites in HTML via the Internet. Selecting WILLCOM's flat-rate data communications service enabled users to enjoy unlimited Web surfing. And now, by choosing the WILLCOM Flat Rate Plan which was introduced this spring enables users to place a call and use email at flat rate. The unit has won considerable acclaim from the market. Kyocera will release the WX310K and WX300K with enhanced functionality and performance to satisfy a broad range of users.

The unit is small and light. It is approximately 49 width x 98 height x 22.8mm depth, and weighs approximately 110g.
Voice quality during calls has been improved from that in Kyocera¡Çs conventional model.

The unit is equipped with the Opera browser, and enables users to view websites in HTML and search information via the Internet. The capacity of the data folder is approximately 8MB, so users have ample space to save pictures, melodies, and website data.

| Remote lock function |
If the handset is lost, its functionality can be locked by remote control. It is also possible to delete all data, including the telephone directory and mail addresses, thereby preventing the leakage and unauthorized use of internal data.
* The remote lock function can be operated by light mail from another WILLCOM handset, or by calling from the handset supporting the sub-address call function.
