Lead by Example

To ensure the support of subordinates and colleagues, we must lead by example. This means being the first to do the kind of work that others disdain.

No matter how eloquent our words may be, we cannot capture people's hearts unless these words are accompanied by action. Only when we first act by doing what we wish others to do for us, will those around us begin to follow.

Leading by example requires courage and conviction. Constant practice of these principles helps us elevate our own character. We must create a work environment where everyone throughout the organization takes a leadership role by setting an example.
