The name “GYOKUJI” is derived from gyoku, which means “jewel” in Japanese, and jiki, which means “porcelain.”
Thus “GYOKUJI” refers to an entirely new art form - a new range of ceramic ware or Gemware, which possesses all the properties of a fine jewel.
These stunning creations come in beautiful translucent colors of ruby red, sapphire blue and ivory. And just like a gemstone, they can maintain their brilliance for many years to come.
“GYOKUJI” also enjoys superior hardness and is ten times stronger than normal ceramics. |

“GYOKUJI” is made from highly purified raw alumina – the exact same mineral which is found in ruby and sapphire.
First, these raw materials are shaped and fired in a vacuum oven at ultra high temperatures. This is followed by a second firing in a high-temperature gas kiln.
This unique two-stage process creates the wonderful colors and translucent appearance for which “GYOKUJI” is so famous.
The resulting alumina material is then carefully polished with diamond powder after it is removed from the kiln to optimize its natural sheen.
Finally, “GYOKUJI” is decorated with traditional Japanese designs and patterns which are hand-painted by master craftsmen.
This revolution in both the Arts and Technology opens a new page in human history and brings fine ceramics into the ‘New Stone Age’.
It is our sincere wish that collectors may delight in this bold new world, created by the fusion of traditional Japanese arts and advanced cutting-edge technology.
Thus we invite you to enjoy this unique expression of beauty and the realization of one man’s dream; “GYOKUJI”. The Crown Jewel of Gemware. |
