What is a Green Curtain? Green Curtains in the Kyocera Group Grow your own Green Curtain

The Kyocera Group grows morning glory and goya (bitter gourd) to form Green Curtains, which are erected over trellises to shade portions of the outer walls and windows of manufacturing and office buildings in Japan.

Kyocera first started growing Green Curtains at its Okaya Plant in Nagano Prefecture, Japan in 2007. In 2008, many other Kyocera Group locations in Japan also participated. In 2009, Green Curtains grown at Kyocera Group locations stretched a total length of 294m (965ft), covering a total area of 775 m² (8,342ft²).
