Global Headquarters Building and Museums

As part of Kyocera’s continuing cultural contribution activities, we have established Kyocera Gallery and The Kyocera Museum of Fine Ceramics on the first and second floors of Kyocera’s headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. The museums are open to the public, and visitors are welcome to come and enjoy the displays at no cost.
A beacon of environmentally-friendly design, Kyocera’s headquarters has one of the world’s largest solar generation*1 and natural gas co-generation systemsn*2. An explanation of these systems can be found in the environmental corner on the second floor. For a closer look, please feel free to visit the building.

  1. The solar generation system is mounted on the southern vertical face and roof of the 20 story building. The output of this system is among the world's highest for systems installed on a vertical wall of a high-rise building.
  2. Kyocera uses natural gas to fuel the co-generation system, which places minimal burden on the environment. Wasted heat is processed by an absorption chiller that is designed for highly efficient heat recovery. This system allows the two power generators, at a combined output of 520kW, to conserve approximately 50% of the building's electric power consumption.
