Environmental Efforts

Solar Commuter Vehicle

A car that runs by using a solar battery to convert the limitless supply of clean solar energy into electricity to drive the motor.

Ceramic Gas Turbine

The use of highly heat-resistant fine ceramics in the key parts of gas turbine engines raises heat efficiency and cuts carbon dioxide emissions to one-half, and nitrogen oxide emissions to one-tenth of conventional levels.

Ecological Fine Ceramic Materials

Fine ceramics are used as eco-friendly materials in environmental equipment and devices that help prevent global warming and save energy. Some examples include use in safe handling of toxic waste materials like dioxins, and in the separation and recovery of carbon dioxide.

Ecosys Printers

With the Ecosys printers there is no need to replace drum cartridges on a regular basis, rather, they can be used by simply refilling the toner. In addition to reducing waste, the printer encourages the creation of environmentally-friendly products, from design to disposal, including the facilitation of sorting and recycling and the use of pulp mold for packing material that can be incinerated or decomposes naturally in the soil.

Solar Power Generating Systems for Industrial Use

Large-scale solar power generating systems are already installed across the world, and newly developed building-integrated solar modules are now in use.

Light-Through Module

A module that allows sunlight into a room through the spaces in the panel design. This module is being constructed for use as windows and balconies of buildings.

Metal Curtain Wall PV Module

A module with a solar battery built into the metal curtain wall. It is also used in the balconies of buildings and in construction wall materials with an emphasis on design.

High-Rise Building PV Module

Solar modules with enhanced wind pressure resistance. Modules come in a choice of blue, brown or gray.

Example of Installation in Kyocera Headquarters' Building

1,392 solar modules are installed on the southern wall of the building and 504 modules on the roof. The total power generating capacity is 214kW.

Solar Power Generating Systems for Industrial Use
Solar Power Generating Systems for Residential Use

Supplying power inside homes using electricity generated by solar modules. The surplus electricity generated during the day flows to a commercial power supply system and is purchased by power companies. At night or when sunlight is scarce, power can be supplemented from ordinary commercial power sources. With the heightened awareness of global environmental protection and solar power generating systems being publicly subsidized by state or local government bodies, demand is expanding.

Products Using Solar Energy

The power generated from solar modules is widely used in equipment such as traffic signs, disaster facilities, communications facilities, public facilities, agricultural facilities, residential garden lighting and underground ventilation systems.
